HABAŞ, a well-established company with over 68 years of heritage in Turkish industry, is showcasing our public transportation vehicles, designed with Turkish engineering, at Busworld Istanbul 2026. At this exhibition, HABAŞ is presenting its HBS-branded electric and diesel buses to visitors.
The foundations of HABAŞ Industrial and Medical Gases Production Industry were laid in 1956 by Hamdi Başaran with the establishment of "Hamdi Başaran Topkapı Oxygen Factory." Always a pioneer in every sector it enters, HABAŞ today operates in industrial and medical gases, iron and steel, natural gas, energy, LPG, banking and finance, heavy machinery, and shipbuilding.
To reinforce its leading role in Turkish industry, HABAŞ decided in 2021 to invest in the automotive sector for the production of commercial and passenger vehicles. The company began developing its commercial vehicles at its R&D and product development centers located at the HABAŞ Çiğli/İzmir facilities. For commercial vehicle production, HABAŞ established a facility in the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone on an area of 100,000 m² with an annual production capacity of 15,000 vehicles. In 2021, HABAŞ also purchased the Honda Türkiye production facilities and will manufacture passenger cars at this plant in Şekerpınar/Kocaeli.
